Insured Care

Within Velthuiskliniek, Laura also performs insured care: procedures covered under the Dutch healthcare system. You need a referral from your general practitioner (huisarts) for this. The following procedures are covered:

Breast reduction

For an insured-care indication under Dutch health insurance, the cup size must be larger than E and the BMI below 30.

Ruptured breast implant (rupture)

This is only covered if an ultrasound or MRI has shown before the procedure that the breast implant is ruptured. The removal of the breast implants and the cleaning of the pocket are covered. Placing new implants and the cost of new breast implants are not.

Capsular contracture (capsule formation)

When a breast is both painful and deformed, this is called capsular contracture. Only in this case are the removal of the capsule (capsulectomy) and the removal of the old breast implants covered by the insurer. Placing new breast implants (these must always be renewed when replaced) and the cost of new implants are not covered.

Upper eyelid correction

This is only covered if the skin of the upper eyelids reaches halfway down the pupil.
