Breast Reduction
Large or heavy breasts can have a considerable influence on how you feel and move. Neck, shoulder and back complaints are common, but exercising, wearing clothes or simply moving freely can become harder too.
With a breast reduction Laura wants to do more than reduce weight and volume: above all she wants to create breasts that are better proportioned to your body and have a shape that suits you.
Smaller and a new shape
In a breast reduction Laura removes excess breast tissue and skin and brings the nipple to a higher position. The areola is made smaller as well.
How much smaller the breasts will become is something you discuss together. Laura looks at your body proportions, the amount of breast tissue and of course at what you find beautiful yourself.
Scars and recovery
A breast reduction leaves scars around the areola, running vertically downward and in the inframammary fold. They become less noticeable over time, but never disappear entirely.
For the first few weeks you wear a supportive bra. After about two weeks you can pick up most daily activities again, and after six weeks on average you can gradually resume exercising. The final result develops over the months that follow.
Reimbursement
In the case of physical complaints, a breast reduction can under certain conditions be covered by your health insurer under the Dutch healthcare system.
